Happiness is family, friends, travel, exploration, love, tears, laughter, sharing, giving, losing and being. Here is my visual representation of those words…

for the love of dogs, travel and plant – based food…
When I saw this week’s travel theme from Where’s my backpack I thought of an image I took whilst driving through the French countryside with my son in April. These trees were impressive as were their incredible colour.

Earlier this year I did a quick trip back to my hometown of Melbourne. The weather was superb and seeing Melbourne is known to be ‘the city of 4 seasons in a day’, I was grateful it decided to be spring for the entire day. I had also just commenced my photography course so I was eager to try out some of the techniques I had learnt, particularly some night shots as I had not used a tripod before so the night shots below were my first attempt.

Through the wonderful world of blogging, I came across ‘Where’s my backpack’ and love her travel themes and how they inspire the creativity of others. Here is my quirky take on it… have trolley, will travel 😉

A few posts ago I wrote of having to say goodbye to a dear friend. But I was wrong in thinking that, it wasn’t goodbye, just a momentary lapse in our ability to share time in the same place.

For although she is in another part of the world right now, through her words, her being and her love of exploring life we are still sharing, irrespective of distance.
It’s quite simple really, friendship has no borders. We can still bathe in a friends light and share thoughts, moments, fears and foes from afar. Distance is of no consequence.
Right now she is bathing in the calm seas of Koh Tao, Thailand.

Her blog is aptly titled A lifetime of lessons, Take a look at her journey, you may enjoy sharing her time too.

There is something about France that brings out the best in me. A few months ago I had the privilege to travel there once again, this time with my 14 year-old son. We did nothing in particular, just jumped in a car and drove where the road took us. No plans, no set agenda, just time spent seeing, watching and sharing life.
Together we embraced French culture whilst silently embracing our own relationship that is bathed in love, trust and respect. Once again, simple pleasures equate to a life well lived and shared with those who are indeed and always shall be, well loved.
